Why is this even discussed?

An ageing and expensive Stafford is NOT an upgrade over Darnold by any stretch of the imagination. I'm a regular at the SoFi and 36 yr old Stafford is now noticeably slower and more fragile.

Stats thru week 7:-

Darnold: 12 TD, 5 INT, Comp. 66.5%, 1370 pass yards, 100 rush yards

Stafford: 3 TD; 4 INT, Comp. 66.7%, 1392 pass yards, -3 rush yards

If the Vikings somehow still need to trade with the Rams, go after TD machine RB Kyren Williams. That would truly be an upgrade.

NO... Stafford isn't MOBILE enough for me to make this trade. If he had the mobility of Darnold, I'd make it in a heartbeat. He's much more clutch at this point in his proven (Superbowl winner) career than Darnold, I believe, and he'd probably play A LOT BETTER than Darnold would in a playoff game in Detroit's stadium, based on familiarity.
