Paul Andersen explains the major plants structures. He starts with a brief discussion of monocot and dicot plants. He then describes the three main tissues in plants; dermal, ground and vascular. He also describes the plant cells within each of these tissues; epidermis, parenchyma, collenchyma, sclerencyma, xylem and phloem. He describes both primary and secondary growth in plants. He finishes the podcast with a discussion of double fertilization in plants.

Here is my mnemonic for types of ground tissue:
Parenchyma: they are the PARENT cells which provide for the others by providing what they need to grow: metabolism and photosynthesis. (Pare- starts both words.)
Sclerenchyma: The strong soldier cells. They give their lives for the greater good of the plant, die and become woody growth. (Sclerenchyma, strong, and soldier all start with ‘s.’)
Chollenchyma: they are support cells. These are the ‘column’ cells. (Both words start with he sound “col-“.)

This is like slower than crash course but faster than khan academy. Usually I use Crash course for review and khan for learning something complex. This is a good mixture.

You explained in 13 minutes what most teachers explain in like a week. You are the best. I don't even like Biology that much but watching your videos makes me want to consider it as a future occupation. Thank You!
