Great video!! Do you want real closterfobic I spent 7 years in the NAVY on submarines . I was on SSBN 619 634 and the USS bonefish . The 2 SSBN got out around more than 70 days . When you start sub school there are 35 guys then by the time you actually go out to sea only 20 or so make it. I would have stayed in for 20 years as I was already a e-5 . But it was not in the cards a torpedo reload test made the stupid torpedo swing and crush me . Now I have no use from the waist down. I have a morphine pump but I get to sit and watch you great videos !!!!

Everyone wants to criticize him for the repair. But sometimes you have to do what you can to get by untill you have the money to repair it properly. I used the same metal duct/flashing tape on my exhaust as a "temporary repair". It worked pretty well. There was a bad smell from the glue heating up on the exhaust from the tape but it passed over time. But sometimes you have to do what you have to to get by.

We all have tried some kind of patching at one time. I did a little stick weld tacking and the guy doing the inspection could tell and said I'll let it go this year, I can't remember what I did the following year. Great video!

Great job you have todo what you have to-do! I just repaired my exaust manifold with half a can of tomatoe sauce (the can stuff) some chimney paste, a Strip of muffler wrap and 2 hose clamps. 99 Ford F 150 with 329k miles ( no engine light on) is as quite as a church mouse. I plan on buying both exhaust manifolds but meanwhile this contraption will suffice. Thx for sharing

I remember doing all kind of repair when I first got married in 70, only got paid 3.15 an hour so you did whatever it took, no garage and in the winter, living on a country house. use lots of cans, coat hangers, what ever I could find!

Super glad I've got the benefit of having an everlast welder in my shop. I hate welding overhead but for something like this it's not so mad.

Soup can to your sized liking for exhaust clamps and some muffler cement works good too..!

Baked bean or soup cans + jubilee clips (with a bit of rtv for a better seal) won't melt smelly plasctic on your truck and would be using cheaper items from your garage

I have the same setup, on my 2005 f150. All the exhaust pipes, mufflers etc, all rust out after two years.
So I fix them as they rust, do not matter what what it's look like.

I like the use of the wire and the thought of the electrical tape buried in there roasting away. But you need clamps to make it all hold together. I'd use lots of foil tape first, then the wire, then more foil tape (lots of it!), then a bunch of hose clamps.
