20 Redneck Car Repair Fails

When I was a teen I had an old Volvo which looked like the 49 Ford. It had a lot of blow-by coming out of the oil breather/fill cap which would come into the car. I got someone to braze a tube on top of the cap, and got an old wash machine drain hose (the one which hooks into the plumbing drain). Ran this down to exhaust the blow-by behind the front wheel. It worked great, no more smoke in the car!

I particularly enjoy the $15 Craigslist Montgomery Wards air conditioner so skillfully installed in the rear window of that pickup truck. And I do worry a bit about the meltable zip ties and the flammable Pringles cans. I think the Coca Cola cans make a wiser choice...
