"4 people take 3 hours to paint a fence. How long will it take 6 people. "

alternative method:
4 people = 3 hours
1 person = 12 hours (divide by 4 to get 1 person so you times by 4 to get 12 hours as it is inversely proportional so you do the inverse/opposite operation)
6 people = 2 hours (times by 6 to get 6 people so you divide by 6 to get 2 hours as, again, it is inversely proportional)

both methods work for me :)
