DIY Fascia and Soffit Install for a 10x12 Shed

Installing soffit and fascia on the 10x12 shed is an important step in getting this building done. The fascia that we are using here is called Miratec. It is pre primered to make painting easy and has good weather resistance. These boards go along the vertical ends of the roof. The soffit is an OSB product with slits cut into it that allow air flow from the space between rafters.

I never comment on videos .. had to let you know this was the best I’ve seen with industry standard materials (miratec, fiber cement soffit) confident I can do all of mine now

A masonry blade on a skil saw will cut fiberboard just fine, and compared to specialized blades just for Hardie, are about 1/3 the cost. Regardless....it is cheaper than an ER bill after you slice your hand open!

Please tell me there is some screen on the back side of those slits? Otherwise won't this become prime real estate for all types of bug nests?

Very useful video. Thanks! It looks like your rafter ends were not plumb. Am I correct? -- I am considering doing the same for my wip cabin. EDIT: I think I found my answer (plumb cut) at 3:17, at least for the bottom edge. :)

Why didn't you use F channel to hold the soffitt and then nail it to the facia with brad nails?
