Have you ever considered forging with High Speed Steel? I mean, it has great shock resistance and super high hardness. M2 specifically can be very tough while not compromising edge retention. Also do you reckon there would be any way to do High Speed Steel damascus lol

what is the point in using razor blade steel if you then just incase it in a mild steel? I keep seeing videos of "damascus knives' etc. using any old steel :(

I have seen many bladesmiths attempt doing damascus out of razor blades. And while I find the concept pretty neat, i have never really cared for the finished result other smiths have had.
