*** AT 38 SECONDS I SHOW MYSELF NEEDLING, THERE IS SOME BLOOD. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE THAT SKIP TO 54 SECONDS!

In todays video I am answering some of the most frequently asked questions regarding microneedling and dermarolling. If you are unable to make it to a professional to get this treatment and you are excited to try it be SAFE! Most important thing is safety:)
In the demo I am not trying to necessarily show you technique as much as I wanted you to see my skin reaction (some blood, pink skin and pin points). This is all normal when needling for collagen. When needling for product penetration (short needles) you will only see pink, and that is great. That pink should subside by the morning if you needle at night. If it doesn't, you might want to reassess your technique (too many passes etc).
I am going to list several things that are helpful to both microneedling and dermarolling, feel free to check them out.

Numbing Cream 5% Lidocaine (if you are doing .5mm numbing makes it MUCH more tolerable!!)
Alcohol wipes
Disposable Headbands:
Hyaluronic Acid Serum great for needling:
Dermaroller .5mm
Dermaroller .3mm
Denture Tablets/retainer cleaner to soak roller:
Clearista for flakes day 3-6:

Wow, I had no idea that derma rolling with Vitamin C was not a good thing to do. Logically, it seems like a good thing to do without having done much research! Thanks so much for sharing all of your insight - this was so helpful!!!

Thanks! I really loved this video! I have been derma rolling with a .25mm and I have been using Vitamin C after! Thanks to your video I will wait a couple days before using it again! As a scientist, I really like how scientific you were, citing peer reviewed studies and statistics. So impressed! I will be subscribing to your videos. ❤️

I absolutely LOVE this woman. Thank you Penny. I’m dermaroller but am looking at investing in a pen. I dermaroll once a week. I may have been doing double the amount of passes you recommended. 10 times each way which included vertical, horizontal, and diagonal, both left and right. I will definitely error you causation and do you box method with five passes. I appreciate the affordable and better way to sanitize my dermaroller. I am thrilled to have found you!

Thanks so much for this. It really cleared up a lot of questions I've had. There's so much conflicting information out there. It gets overwhelming trying to piece it all together and figure out what's right.

Okay, so I just discovered your channel. I have watched through a few of your videos and mid video I find the need to stop and write this comment. I am so impressed by your information and delivery. As a person in the medical field (microbiology) I have found your videos to be so sound and full of useful valid information. You are going to be my go to place for buying guides and good factual info. The only drawback is I know have an amazon cart full of items, including an electric micro needling pen! I am investing in myself for a change and it feels like Christmas. Thank you for making this information available and providing a safe protocol for those such as myself. Now to resume my viewing of this video with appreciation. Have a great day!

I went from a .3 dermaroller to a 1. After listening to you going to a .5. Thank you for the info. Using for tightening facial skin and marionette lines at the corners of my mouth. I WISH I could afford a dermatologist. Thanks again. Debra

Thanks so much for taking the time to share these insights. I actually was using a .75 every 3 weeks for about 5 months now (I worked up to this needle starting with .25) and I have thought (recently) that my face looked a little puffy. Great idea to move it out a week. Never used a serum with Vitamin C (did once and it irritated) and I never use any foundation for at least 24 hours after & I sterilize, sterilize, sterilize.

Awesome info! It's so great to have all of this info in one place. I've watched tons of videos on this and still seem to not really have a clear idea of what to do, when, and what not to do. So, thanks for being such a great resource. I do have 3 questions. The first is how do I incorporate nano and micro needling into my routine with retin-a? Second, how should I use hydroquinone when needling? And lastly, what is your recommendation for needling for those of us with melasma? Thanks again. Love your channel!
