I like the butter scotch window best . Wondering how to cut the window hole out easiest on pre-made DYI kits ? If you can help with any ideas ? Also, I've used plain sugar for windows and dropped food coloring drops and used a toothpick to make the design i was looking for . It is the same as your last window idea mostly but gives it the stained glass church effect, and I'm nowhere near as talented as you are with this . Matter of fact I'm working with 1 arm and a prayer on this . Just a determined grandma tring to make her grandchildren happy . They are happy BTW, we do lots of projects together . They keep me alive, grateful and blessed to have them in my life . Thanks for the tips, it's appreciated 🤝🏼💕

Thanks for the good ideas. I've just made two gingerbread Easter houses and, since I forgot to fill the windows with candies before I finished baking them, I was looking for a simple sugar method where I could avoid baking them anymore. I may try these. I do want something lighter. If you cook them on a lower heat or add a little water, would it melt enough without turning brown? I may try that. I'll let you know if it works.

Won’t the second window be taffy like rather than hard candy?

The middle window pane doesn’t look very translucent
