What's the dumbest case you've ever had on jury duty? It was about a young woman, maybe 19 or 20, who got arrested for interfering with a 911 call. Here's what happened. She was at her parents' house when her mom and dad got into a loud argument. Nothing physical, just yelling and bickering. At one point, the mom fed up, threatened to call the police if her husband didn't stop. He didn't, so she picked up the phone and dialed 911.

That's when the daughter, trying to de-escalate, took the phone, hung it up, and told them to stop acting like children, and it worked. They calmed down, everyone apologized, and things went back to normal. But apparently, the 911 call still went through, because a few minutes later, the police showed up. Instead of leaving, when they realized there wasn't an emergency, they arrested the daughter for hanging up the phone. It gets worse. The state actually decided to press charges, and wanted her to serve six months in jail for interfering. We sat there in court, listening to this ridiculous story. Looking at each other like, is this real life? When it came time to deliberate, it was the shortest discussion ever. Of course, we found her not guilty. It was a complete waste of everyone's time. And honestly, I left wondering how this case ever made it to court in the first place.

DA that has nothing better to do and/or Republicans being "tough on crime."
