I always loved the bass in this song, definitely one of (if not) Paul Simonon’s best bass lines in my opinion. One of The Clash’s best songs but I didn’t know that he sang it, I always thought it was Strummer but Paul’s got a solid voice as well

great song, when I saw The Clash live in the early 80s, Joe Strummer played the bass on it and Paul Simonon play guitar and sang lead. Paul plays bass on the studio version I believe

I know Strummer plays the triplets live but on the record I think it’s just eight notes. Could be wrong, but I’ve listened intently on headphones.
