Thanks for doing a full on review of this product. I’ve been waiting for one since the announcement. I have this on preorder being a cockpit builder and I’ve had the older cougar HOTAS and Winwings Orion with F16 grip. This looks like a great solution for my full F-16 Cockpit build. I appreciate your well rounded view and assessment of the functionality. Thanks a lot buddy.👍👍

Total bummer Thrustmaster got cheap and made the knobs, buttons & most switches plastic. On the OG Cougar they were all fully metal.

You don’t need to stay on the gear handle to immediately get the gear up. The gear will extend/retract below 350 knots. Usually we count 2 seconds after wheels up and hit the gear lever then.

I am left wondering whether 500 euro's is a bit too expensive for what this is. That price point means that it needs to compete with top of the line products. Like Virpil's VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle for ~423.5 euro's and VKB products (Most expensive throttle version being the Gunfighter Mk. III Base with Modern Combat Grip Ultimate (with twist) &
Omni Throttle Adapter: 238 + 345 + 57 = 640). Comparatively, this seems like a tough sell to me. But if you specifically are seeking F-16 style throttle for immersion, it might be worth the surplus to specific users.

While I've always wanted a viper throttle - dont get why they chose to move buttons around or eg gears not where they're meant to be - thought like the A10 HOTAS they were going for authenticity and makes that part useless if trying to recreate it all 1:1 in a simpit

Super solid presentation, editing and format. Nicely done! Concerned about mounting this personally.

from 2010 looks like first combination that can be the competitor for x65f... this one for throttle, and realsimulator for joy... just 12 years:)

If you're actually building a pit, better to just get the throttle and save yourself a chunk of change by building your own panel. It's got useful switches, but nothing is where it should be in the actual cockpit.

Eyeballing this for Falcon BMS. Going to have to map some of those different then what is labeled on the base. Seems like great hardware. I don't need this I already have a Warthog and everything works just fine after 7 years. Thanks for sharing your review it helps a lot!

Very nice review, that's the way to do it! This looks really tempting, and I have my old Cougar from 2004, but as for now I'm focused on the AJS37 Viggen module, so I will hold off for a while :)

In the f16, the autopilot switch is spring loaded and is automatically pushed into default position when an a certain aoa is reached with it turned on. Unfortunately that does not carry onto the Hotas making it a bit useless. The only good feature of this thing is the slap switch.

The nost baluable comment in this video is about needing a grinder that can grind sufficiently finde enough for the Flair 58. I went fron a PRO 2 to a 58, and had to grind considerably finer.

So a blackout button is installed on the newest f16s and other modern aircraft. basicly what it does is engage the autopilot do a 15-20g turn to evade a missile and then return to a neutral position for the pilot to recover from the blackout. Since a pilot can withstand not more than 10g he will blackout. thats why its the blackout button.
