Показать описание
Dear friends, today I will give you brief information about "the definition and process of job analysis".
First, let's remember how we defined the term the “job” in my previous video that was listed on my youtube channel.
Here is the definition.
Job includes any kinds of activities required for the execution of mission/task/responsibility associated with the position/post as well as the effort spent and the value obtained in return in the organization.
Now it is time to go over the job analysis. As Morgeson and his colleagues emphasized that there are four aspects that effects the scope and depth of the job analysis. Here are the four aspects.
Data content, type and structure,
Data collection,
Data sources,
Data analysis.
Depending on these four aspects; the difficulty, scope and content of the job analysis journey become clear. With this in mind, we can move on to the definition of job analysis.
Job analysis involves the evaluation and analysis of a job, in terms of the tasks, responsibilities, skills, tools, knowledge and expertise required to fulfill the job requirement successfully. . .
The stages of job analysis are composed of 10 steps.
Identify objectives of job analysis and obtain top management support
Identify jobs to be analyzed and methodology to be applied
Review existing job documentations
Communicate job analysis process to managers and employees
Gather job analysis data
Review and compile data
Draft job descriptions and specifications and review them with managers
Identify recommendations and finalize job description and recommendation
Approve the final job description and put it into practice,
Review the feedback and restart the process if needed
When you handle the four aspects and stages of job analysis together, you will notice the four aspects in the first six steps easily. In other words, there is a strong relationship between your job description methodology and your analysis approach.
Now, here comes the most important part of the job analysis process. What I want you to focus on the remaining the last four steeps. Writing the draft job description and specifications, and finalizing them with the managers, putting them into the practice and monitoring the results are all critical to the success of job analysis. If you do not follow the last 4 steps, then your energy, resources and time will be used up in vain.
Good luck in your job analysis journey and thank you for watching the video. Please subscribe to my channel if you like it.
