Pixel 2 XL - New Update Screen Comparison

The Pixel 2 XL screen has been somewhat fixed with a new update. I compare it with the Galaxy S8+ and iPhone X.

I️ appreciate the idea of the video, but next time please turn the brightness to max on both handsets. I️ know you put them both in auto, but that doesn’t really make sense in a test like this.

I just got mine yesterday and there are absolutely no issues. It was all overblown. The display is great, the phone is phenomenal, and the daydream VR is very cool. The squeeze functionality is much better than I expected and the speakers are fantastic. Can't wait to have a reason to test the camera out.

I have had the Pixel 2 XL for a week now. I've really enjoyed it. I've seen some sort of blue/red shift on every display since I was a kid - it doesn't bother me, even on an $850 phone. I would love better hardware but I paid to be the first to get Android updates and to have a fairly clean OS. I'm happy with my purchase.

I love this review. Google recieved way too much hate for the shifting, when other companies' phones experience the same issues.

True, no excuses for an expensive device, but it really isn't as terrible as others say.

1/ S8's screen didn't have a major blue shift ( i don't say the pixel panel is bad)
2/ the S8 have a calibrated mode to Full SRGB that u can use.

The Pixel appeared to have a more realistic white point; and when you brought in the iPhoneX that seemed to trounce both Android phones in terms of brightness, white point and least blue shift when tilted.

Did you watch the video before publishing? Because I cannot see what you're talking about in the commentary (S8's blue shift or similar colors in Pixel's vivid mode).

Thanks for doing this video, man! I literally had my 2 XL in the cart and was looking for people with videos about the update already. I figured the blue shift would be similar to what's on the GS8 and people were just paying more attention to it on pixel bc of the washed out issues existing at the same time.

Sub earned my friend. I've had my pixel 2 xl for about a week now and honestly I don't even notice the blue shift the update for saturation is super nice though. I don't have any screen burn-in either so that's a relief. I really love this phone, I don't have any big complaints yet either. The hardware is identical to similar flagship phones from this year but the software and getting direct updates from Google is what really makes the phone shine. If you're looking for a new phone you definitely won't be disappointed I just recommend a nice case for it because 850 dollar phones just aren't built to be dropped. Lol

Aaron I have owned mine since day 1 of launch and I have zero issue I do admit the screen was full in comparison to the Samsung's of the world but the Pixel 2 XL has a great screen and even better now thanks for the comparison
