Seems like the repelling magnets would help with overshoots when turning fast. As a Roux solver, overshooting an M slice can easily cause a lockup.

They should have a third option, like a mix of the two with maglev because spring noise is SUCH a pain in the ass and can't really be fully fixed without buying new springs

ok but its kinda crazy how cubing has such a big community to the point where we have whole companies just for the point of making rubik's cubes

I'd say it makes more sense to use repelling magnets at the core like Moyu does with their 20-magnet ball core.
