This Saphire card at $999 USD (as of December 2023) is a whopping $350 less than the lowest-priced RTX4080

I have this card for around a year now and it’s served me well. You can get a significant oc from it and it’s a reliable top of the range performance. Close enough on performance to an RTX 4090 but way cheaper I’m glad I switched from Nvidia.

I love Sapphires Nitro+ line, I adored my old RX580 Nitro+ 8gb back in the day the thing ran for years it even did ok at 1440p at the end of it's life.

In contrast to 90% of all other graphic cards from both AMD's and Nvidia's partners, this one indeed looks simplistic, humble (apart from the LED strips), like digging into the design philosophy apple pursues and also reminiscent of Intel's Arc.
It's a design that, next to Gainward's GTX Phoenix 10-series for example, I really fell in love with.

Thanks for the informative review. I ordered one of these today and cannot wait for it to arrive early next week.

You are doing the best amd 7000 series reviews. Hopefully you can get the powercolor red devil 7900xtx and the asrock 7900xtx taichi to make a final statement

The 1% lows getting worse when overclocking could be due to the undervolting. Your fps could be better but 1% lows worse due to it not being a 100% stable undervolt. Couldve been something else but probably worth a try to increase voltage a little bit and see if it changed anything

Good review, would have been good to have a PowerColor Red Devil to compare against over the Hellhound.

I just got this nice upgrade for me. I was using a 970 for the past 3years. I hope this card will last for a long time for me.

Thanks, think that's got me to a buy decision. I appreciated the power optimisation stats. Been deciding about which model as I might add a water block one day and this seems to have the best power availability to push it properly

Subscribed. Good content. Been watching quite a few of your videos.

I'm glad I saw this vid, as I had seen the card on their site & from the images I saw there I wasn't too impressed with its aesthetics, but it doesn't look too bad here.

I won't be getting 1 just yet, as I haven't had my 6900XT Nitro+ SE that long - got it just past the height of the shortages when it cost me about £100 more than what this 1 is going for from the same place (OcUK) at the moment. (£1299.95 @ time of writing)

I see that Sapphire are making the three power fuses a selling point. Suggesting that when they fail we can desolder them, find new fuses that match and solder them into place. Or at least someone with the skills and access to the parts can. Which makes me wonder how common it is for video cards to fail and be repaired. In turn are these repairs carried out by a bevvy of board fiddlers with steady hands or do the manufacturers do this under warranty?

Great review even though i skipped through it, you covered the all important OC/Undervolting/GPU temps with this. Would've been cool to hear how loud it is at 50% fan speed but oh well you can't have everything.

Compared to the reference models how noisy is it?

@eTeknix has there been any resolution on the overclocking/fans situation in the past year? I got this card and love it, if there’s a more current recommendation on OC I’d love to hear it

Great review, awesome looking card, too bad for the pricing.
But why don't you detail your test setup? What driver did you use? Release on or the slight newer 22.12.2 one?
It's said a big Adrenaline driver update is coming this month (probably no FSR3 or HYPRX yet tho) which may improve performance and clocking behavior by quite a bit. Hope you guys give it some coverage if that happens, thanks!

Very similar results to my Gigabyte Aorus Elite 7900 XTX. Any plans on doing that one for a review?
