I'm a fan of B&M shifters in general but not this one. I don't like having to put it in drive to access reverse. It's very counter-intuitive.
I bought the Stealth pro-ratchet instead. It's compact, 100% intuitive, simple and works great.

This shifter really looks great when installed, unfortunately it operates very poorly. Has sloppy play and is a pain to try to remember how to operate it. Worst part is there is no lock out between drive and neutral which can cause you to blow your engine.

The reverse lockout Trigger thing on mine is broken. It snapped in half. Turns out it's made of pot metal. I'm pissed. What do I do to get another one?

B&M should have put the reverse lock-out on the neutral position, too. In case you start in 2nd but you think it's in low. Slap what you think is second gear, but it's drive, then slap it again into neutral and hit the gas again.

With the 4 speed AOD does the ratchet work the same? Do you push forward through all the gears 1-4?

why does it bang into neutral? should lock to go to neutral then reverse.

I currently have this shifter in my 97' mustang GT.. I bought it for the stock transmission and then I went to a PA C4 transmission when I needed a better transmission to match the horsepower from my motor, Now, I'm over 1500hp and once again swapping in a th400 to back the 5.4's horsepower. For me to keep the console mounted shifter what conversion kit is available now? Or go with another b&m shifter.. I only like it because it goes into the stock location.

my brother has one we put in his 93 mustang. I don't know if it's just all worn out or not but it sure is a floppy turd for a shifter. It moves side to side and feels all loose. With the comments, i think we got one right on par with the others. I was expecting it to be tight like a quicksilver at least probably never be as solid as a pro ratchet. Really sucks you still have to do the 1-2-1 shift on his aod. I was hoping with the tci valve body and all we could do away with it, I guess not. If im doing that im more used to the stock aod shifter, never had a issue with it

How do you prevent hammering it into neutral, if you get excited and forget what gear it’s in...?

I dont like this shifter, crap! From P to Reverse i must use both hands or else i get do Drive. And from Neutral to Parking i must put it to Drive first and then Parking. I dont understand, whats the point with this shifter?

does not shfit that easy when get all in your wost shifter iv ever own my boot wore out it was 60 bucks junk
