‘The problem has only gotten worse’: Thousands of migrants arrive on Italian island

Author Douglas Murray says nothing has changed about the migration crisis in Italy over the years besides it getting worse.

Mr Murray's comments come as the small island of Lampedusa saw its population double when thousands of migrants arrived by boat in September.

“Nothing has changed except for the problem has gotten worse,” he told Sky News host Caleb Bond.

“The number of people who want to come to countries like Australia, Europe, and North America is infinite, it's hundreds of millions in Sub–Saharan Africa alone that want to come to Europe.

“Europe can not take them.

“Europe seems incapable of repelling them or deterring them and in that lies an awful lot of pain and misery from European peoples in the years ahead.”

In addition, i have seen no gratitude whatsoever from the migrants. I see demands, complaints, and rebellion.

Until the risk is greater than the reward, this migration crisis will get worse. Does any nation have enough housing healthcare workers, education, or jobs available for such large numbers of population shifts? Unskilled labor means high unemployment.

I fear that Germany is so reluctant of repelling them because we don't want to look like the bad guys again. Self destruction seems like a viable strategy if you want to keep up your good guy image indefinitely.😑
