No one's talking about how this is great marketing for Dr. Strange. If anyone was on the fence about Multiverse of Madness, I'm sure Strange's role here has got people pretty stoked. Amazing to see him ascend to an A-level Avenger

This was the first movie that I felt had genuine hype outside of the film twitter, film internet sphere. Even then I’m surprised it swung past 200 million. For me it’s the first film I’ve seen opening weekend in years.

The pandemic increased ticket prices quite a bit. I know my local theatre got a $2 increase per ticket on regular format showings so I'm sure those price increases helped a lot but still a very impressive opening none the less.

As a former AMC employee, I can tell you Christmas day was the busiest day of the year for us. Maybe there will be less people because of COVID but I'd be interested to see the numbers that day.

I have been simping for this movie all year, but the Free Guy is still in the Top 10 Domestic, and all over the streaming charts, shows that its a great people, that people love to watch, im sure more than once. It will look like nothing compared to Spiderman, but its much smaller / cheaper / non IP movie, and I honestly feel its achieved alot.

This is the first movie I've seen in a theater since 2019 so it even pulled in people like me who have been staying away, so I'm not surprised it did well. (side note: even though my theater was requesting people wear masks only maybe 20% wore them so I won't be going back any time soon)
