2024 Chevy Trailblazer Review

The 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer emerges as a notable option within the subcompact SUV segment, particularly for shoppers emphasizing value, which encompasses not only cost but also the features and benefits for the price. This model is highlighted for its affordability and competitive positioning. It marks the current, second generation's reintroduction in 2021 after a 12-year break, noticeably smaller by 18 inches, filling the gap left by the Chevy Traverse with its absence. Originating from Korea or China, the 2024 Trailblazer introduces a refreshed design featuring a new front-end, a larger instrument panel, and an expanded infotainment touchscreen among other updates.

Just bought a fully loaded Activ trim AWD and so far I'm loving it. Only driven about 400 miles so far and of course only time will time will tell how it does when it gets up there in miles. I'm the type of person who trades in every two to four years anyway.
I find it to be very zippy and does just fine even when I go 70 mph. I'm not a lead foot and have no need to go 0 to 60 in 3 seconds. I find it takes the bumps just fine. Some road noise at higher speeds though not too obnoxious. Time to crank up the tunes. I love the sporty exterior styling and the interior suits me fine both ergonomically and aesthetically. I seldom have passengers in the back so I'm not too concerned about that area. Love the blind spot monitoring and front collision warning.
Really the only thing I don't like is the piano black plastic inside and out. Seems like it would be delicate and easy to scratch. Wish it was matte or slightly textured.
Oh and I'm averaging 33-34 mpg with about 40% city driving and 60% highway.

Recently bought an LT FWD with the 1.3. Power is actually not bad. This and the Kona are the best offerings for around $25K in my opinion . The Trailblazer and Trax are somewhat hard to find. They are shipping regularly to dealers, but usually are sold by the time they are delivered. We are close to 1, 000 miles on ours and it is averaging a surprising 38.1 mpg. The interior room is really good. So far we are happy with it.

I love the looks of the Trailblazer, and in that respect, I wouldn’t mind having one, but take an RS, and start adding options to it (Adaptive Cruise and Sound, Panoramic Moonroof), and you’re very easily looking at $34-35k for this vehicle, which is very hard to justify against the competition (particularly when you factor in lightly used up(per) market vehicles). You don’t even get rear seat air vents on the Trailblazer for that $35k. For the same money, you could get something with over 200 hp, all the same features you’d be adding here via packages, and possibly a better reputation for reliability. When you start thinking from this perspective, it becomes very hard to recommend the Trailblazer.

*And let’s not even mention the elephant in the room: The Trax. For a lot of people, the existence of the Trax almost makes the Trailblazer redundant. But we can save that for another discussion.

Great to see Mark Takahashi, I've been a fan since the Inside Line days. The Trailblazer is on my list because I need a small CUV that has a decent amount of passenger & cargo space. To be honest, I would be all over the Kona due to its amazing feature content, but I have been scared off by Hyundai reliability horror stories. In fact, it's not even the reliability that puts me off, it's the fact that people say they are treated poorly by the dealers, which is a complaint I've been hearing about Hyundai for many years.

Slap on some packages & AWD & the price gets stupid in a hurry.

I would go for a Subaru Forester Premium, which is a good thing, since that's what I have. My previous vehicle was a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer, which was a great suv. I sold it with 188000 miles on it, to my best friend, who bought it for his son to drive. That old Chevy was an awesome suv, except perhaps for its appetite for gas, but even that was reasonable, given all its good qualities.

Doesn’t the passenger seat fold flat? Seems like an important point.

Not bad but test drives on 2 different slightly used models revealed a drivers seat that seems to sag on the left side of the drivers side. A deal breaker for me.

CVT transmission in the base model I think I was told. I couldn’t touch it. If the base model had the 9 speed at 25k I’d be tempted to buy. But no way on the cvt
