Ichigo Was NEVER A Real Soul Reaper?

With Bleach returning in October I’m going to be doing a lot more Bleach content. Rereading the manga, rewatching the anime and simping for Yoruichi. All the important stuff.

As soon as Ichigo accepted his true self (both Hollow and Quincy side), his power skyrocketed. In order to fight one Sternritter, multiple captain level shinigami were required, but Ichigo packed 4 Sternritters (All the bambis) without breaking a sweat and without using his Bankai.

He did. White was his Asauchi and it turned into His Zanpakuto when it fused with his Soul Reaper powers. Just like for everyone else. The only difference is thar Ichigo was born with his Asauchi while everyone else didn’t get one until joining the Soul Reaper academy.

His Zanpakuto was all kinds of messed up, you could even argue incomplete, due to the situation with Old Man Zangetsu, but it was the real deal.

it's kinda implied that the blade he wielded at the start of series was an Asauchi. a borrowed one, like Kenpachi. but he did later make it completely his own.

i'm not saying that makes it a real Zanpakuto. but, it was closer to a real one than most lore-heads might think

To be fair, his real zanpakuto spirit was white. White was created from the souls of multiple shinigami which could be why ichigo already had a zanpakuto before he could get an asauchi

So in English, soul reapers can’t make their swords. Which is exactly what ichigo did. Making weapons like that is a Quincy thing. His Quincy powers were masquerading as sole reaper powers the entire time.
