Your answer isn't wrong, but the more likely reason is because the brand will lose out on the sale of the included strap.

It’s cheaper. They prefer you paying extra $500 for an additional strap.

We must have micro adjustments on the bracelets. Also, if you go to a boutique, you can sweetheart a strap out of the sales assoc.

What drives me nuts is when a watch has a bracelet or strap option, but they don't make if easy to buy the other option
