This movie was before my time and don't even consider the remake worthy of viewership. This intro was powerful with it's ominous opening and statement of events then transitions to a militaristic marching rhythm as if you were flying through the skies on a soviet transport to then end melodically with a sense pride and patriotism as the subject became the quiet unsuspecting town. An unforgettable classic in my eyes.

They play this track from 0:30 onward on Soarin’ at Disneyland’s California Adventure in the ride que. I heard it last time I was there and went “Wait.. this music is from Red Dawn!”

Red Dawn is my favorite movie, greetings from Russia. It's a pity that in Russia this movie is hated and mocked with sarcasm calling it "trash" and "comedy" and "silly movie" and "anti-Soviet/anti-Russian propaganda". I got acquainted with this movie in childhood when it was shown on STS in the 2000s. But because of Russian invasion in Ukraine has made this movie relevant
