Tackle Test, Mike the Pike Lure, Westin

Pike lures don’t get much more pikey than this. The Westin, Mike the Pike a 220mm (8 ¾”) hard pike swimbait with soft fins and a great jerky swimming action that cries "I am dying,” in a pretty painful way. Having thrown it into a few canal walls it is pretty tough and it helps to have soft parts like the tail and fins. I find it best used on steady retrieve subsurface where it runs between 150mm- 450mm (6”-18”) but it also works with a sink and draw retrieve. It is not glide bait so when pulled in short jerks it kind of crumples rather than glides. It also comes with two line hitches, the one on the tip makes it run very shallow 250mm (10”) and also gives a very wobbly feel. The second hitch further back gets it a bit deeper and also gives it a smoother swim. Very nice bait very well made. Does it catch fish? No, I do using this

Pro Tip: Use some superglue if you don't want to lose the tail fin quite often

Swims so janky, not worth the price. Soft swimbait would be much better.

That’s a chained pickerel lure, not a northern pike lure.
