Each Flex Time algorithm is designed for different source material.
- Monophonic works best for a vocal or instrument that plays one note at a time, and have little to no reverb on it.
- Slicing is best for drums and percussion because it doesn’t stretch or compress the audio. Instead, it cuts it at each transient, shifts its position, and plays each slice in its original speed.
- Rhythmic, time stretches the material and loops audio between slices to fill any gaps. It’s useful for rhythmic tonal material such as rhythm guitars.
- Polyphonic is the best quality and most CPU intensive algorithm. It time stretches audio signal without touching its pitch, so it’s useful for chords as well as entire mixes. I hope this helps!
