2:09 I was able to toss my brassica mix of seeds into a water bottle then when they had some roots I poured them into a container. Then I thinned the plants that didn't grow as fast and ate them. I have some that shall hopefully either give me good leaves or bolt and give me a lot of seeds. I eat the seedlings. They are tasty.

Like it! Have chickens, tortoise, and worms. All of which will love those outer leaves and stalk. Will give this a try from seeds in a month or so here in southern cal. Thanks Jeff!

Another great vid Jeff, thank you. I tried planting in summer for fall harvest last year but got nowhere, no heading on the guys and then frost hit (I live in Montreal, so zone 5ish where I am). Next year early start for sure and I am getting a bigger garden (moving) so I plan to put many of your wonderful ideas into practice, including a few raised beds. Don't stop with the great work, please! I need you Super Jeff ! You're my Great Canadian Hero! :)

Should you prune off some of the big leaves before the head forms to help growth 🤔

I live in zone 7b so it's one of those warm, but unpredictable areas interms of weather. Spring feels like it's about 10 days. Is there a sweet spot in late July/early August when I could just direct sow?

I don't follow your no till style of prepping a bed. If you lay down paper and throw more compost on top at a depth enough to play, you'd be overflowing after a few seasons, no? What's making bottom layers either disappear or shrink down?

So no need to make holes in the craft paper, as it compost pretty quickly?
