Mike's outro @ 6:01 "We're out here at NORD 2025" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 which is priceless while standing with the KORG representative, and you can see it on his face 😂. Thanks for the review, tho. We all mess up sometimes ✌🏼

For me the load time was the least of my issues with the Kronos. How about some workflow enhancements

Turn it on then go make your coffee, make some waffles, kiss your wife, take the kids to school, grab some milk and eggs on the way back to the studio then start playing 😂😂😅

That answers most of my questions - good video! Can't wait to hear these new sounds

Man that loading time is still not the best, imagine you're in the middle of a gig and it gets unplugged, you are sitting there for almost a minute waiting lol

Ten years later. It's still the same keyboard in new skin.

Elated to see the return of the king! Hopefully, Korg has improved the editor.

I do like how it takes some time for the screen to go away after it's turned off. That means they built in some bigger caps or some other technology that keeps it alive for a little while after power is disconnected. That'll get you past some temporary power blips. With the earlier ones, a temporary power blip required a LONG reboot.

The nautilus becomes the new krome. Kronos has always been the GOAT!

Thank you so much Sir! As a musician, owner of Yamaha’s Rolands, Kurrweils, Korg (01/W, Triton) (Kronos 2 of my previous church), and in addition working in the IT field people need to understand that the Kronos, EX, and 2 used a computer motherboard with SSDs inside. So, in order to manage all the hardware and drivers, since the application is for music that’s why the boot time was so long. You need to maintain this keyboard like a computer… But the guy mentioned something very important “we upgraded the motherboard”… I think the new motherboard doesn’t use fans, what’s mean that they are using ARM s CPUs what is a great improvement and very exciting!!! That will be a good improvement, with the new faster SSD inside. I’m excited to put my hands in one of them… They really improvements are under the hood. For the previous Kronos you could upgrade the SSD until 250GB to upload more samples and add until 3GB of RAM (because it had a old motherboard)… Now I’m excited what motherboard they put it inside to see how much I could upgrade…

GOD BLESS YOU MASTER JOHN MIKE!!! Wish I could be at the NAMM to meet you!!!!

I lack a clear vision for the future. When I saw "Kronos 3", my heart started beating faster - finally they've seen the light. But it calmed down quickly... It's kind of funny how the representative uses "backward compatibility with kronos 2" as a selling point for kronos 3 whereas a viewer immediately thinks "of course it's backward compatible, nothing was changed". To me, it gives the impression of some kind of emergency action to try and stop the never-ending avalanche of critique on their wrong decision to kill their flagship product without having a credible replacement, done in a half-hearted way that most likely was not allowed to cost anything (I mean, does it really take years of R&D to replace a touch screen and select a faster processor and add some new presets? Maybe it does, I'm not a synth engineer.). Though I'm sure it's still a very nice instrument so many years after it was first introduced, the vibes I'm getting are those of "we've neglected investing in the future for far too long while happily milking our cash cow and by now we've hopelessly fallen behind our competition, but we'll sell it a little bit cheaper instead and hope for the best". Maybe the new motherboard is powerful enough that a lot of new stuff can added in updates, but as it stands, betting on that to happen seems a little adventurous. Again, does Korg have any vision for the future or will they keep living in the past?

I've been mulling this over since the news that a new Kronos was imminent, I am a genuine Korg fan (I own AND STILL USE Korg software as well as physical units including Wavestate, X5, Karma, M3 & Kronos 2011) so does this mean that sometime in June I upgrade my sound bank to my original v1 Kronos and it becomes a v3? ok I've already maxed out my dimms and added a second SSD hard disk? I know my boot time is slower than the new system and my screen isnt bad (or maybe i've just gotten used to it), my wooden end cheeks dont add to the sound, yeah nice black finish is cool....Hey listen in all fairness "how the hell can you continuously come out with "Kronos" level innovation??, I really have no idea how you can keep this up, but i suspect a rerelease without any real updates doesnt give off the right optics within the synth community. ps. Do appreciate the fact the price is realistic, so kudos for that.

I’m not digging the flat black. Brushed black or brushed stainless was way better. But I like the black wood on the ends. I modified my old Kronos with a faster ram and faster SSD and I had my Kronos 2 at 1:05 speed boot time.

I love that KORG reacted on everybody asking for a Kronos comeback! Thanks for that! But nobody talks about in- and output or compatibility in terms of mac/studio… no usb c, bluetooth?, no XLR-in out, more usb slots? Why is that? When Kronos 2 came out it was way ahead of its time. It seems tho me that this is not the case with Kronos 3. Heartbreaking… But to be frank: I am going to buy one!

So essentially Korg's answer to the Yamaha Montage M8x or Roland Fantom-8 is bring back the Kronos 2 with a few new sounds and little improvement in boot time. Lame!

I'm done with Korg after my K II smoked off while I was playing! The mainboard had to be replaced (for € 950!) and I was actually told that these instruments are not made to be moved back and forth all the time. You have to imagine...unbelievable.
Now I'm a happy and grateful owner of a Nordstage 4.
