If you have depression, please tell someone. And if they are telling you please take the time to listen.

If Anthony Bourdain teaches us one thing, it's to engage and respect people of all backgrounds, find common ground, disarm them with open charm, and seek out what they truly think. This seems to be a long-lost art and a key to depth of human character. RIP

Condolences. He traveled the world to experience food, places, and people, yet depression still destroyed him. Love what you have people.

I watch him all the time. I've learned so much from him. What a unbelievable loss. I'm devestated . A humble fellow. So crushed. Heartbreaking

This is happening way too often... Robin Williams, Chester Bennington, Kate Spade, and now Anthony Bourdain.

He humanized the world. He laughed, drank, and ate with all kinds of people. He absolutely respected the hell out of everyone he's ever met whether he understood them or not.

He showed that the world can be a pleasant place and not a big scary monster we're conditioned to think all the time.

He is to me a first and foremost a Food Ambassador to the world. A Cultural and Global Ambassador. He was also unabashedly REAL. He was a great Story Teller. He showed us you can experience global culture through food and their very local stories of the human element. He wasn’t traveling to some posh resort in foreign countries and saying he was there like how most people in the U.S. Travel globally. He spent time with locals, in their elements, eating their food and seeing it made and the learning the stories of their culture that put that food on the table. Sharing that food made with the local people, their families and communities. You learn about people and culture through that lens and very much their story. He went there and brought us along. And that is what he meant to me and will miss him. I have passport for a long time and have
personally traveled to Parts Unknown. I’ll always treasure my time in Lima Peru and into the Peruvian Jungle. Anthony you’ll be missed and pray you’ve found peace wherever you are. You’ve made a difference in my life.

How horrific. Sometimes the friendliest, warmest people we know are fighting the deepest battles we can imagine. RIP, sir.

He lived well, but 61 is barely a whole life. Damn

This is just affecting me too deep, third person I have heard dying from suicide just this week. Am sure there are so many people who lost loved ones from suicide except their passing are not publicly known. To you all I say God comfort and give you strength in this difficult time.

So many people look happy/fine on the outside but so tormented on the inside that they feel it's better to take their own lives than to seek out help! Rest in peace Anthony!

Not normally shook up about celebrity deaths, but this one hits hard. Been watching his television shows as long as I could remember. He was the inspiration for us to begin traveling and he will be forever remembered and missed. R.I.P. Tony. :(
