Travel toiletries are something everyone does differently - bare bones, full make-up kits, medications, self-filled containers, and the customizations go on and on, so in this video, I compare several options, from just $1 vs $100 Dopp Kits to organize your personal hygiene items for travel while remaining compliant to airline and TSA regulations.

Make sure to get "medium" sized Ziploc "freezer" bags since they are a compliant size AND they're thicker for better durability and leak-proofing.

0:42 Basic Dopp Kit
The Herschel Chapter 3 Liter is the Dopp Kit I used for almost a decade. I recommend this STYLE of Dopp Kit for folks who have one accommodation when they travel - for example, visiting one city when going on vacation where you'll only need to unpack once when you arrive and repack once when you head back home.

4:10 Slim Hanging Dopp Kit
This style of Dopp Kit is what I recommend for travelers who change accommodations frequently. The hanging functionality and slim package enables frequent travelers to just hang open without the need to ever actually "unpack" any toiletries - rapid deployment, rapid repacking. I've used this one since 2019 and don't see myself changing anytime soon!

6:18 Large Capacity Dopp Kit
For folks who have a ton of items, whether it's medications, makeup, or multi-step skincare routines, a very large capacity Dopp Kit might just be the best option for reducing stress when traveling. Beyond that, this particular one has the OPTION of hanging up onto towel rails too.

I've tried different toiletry bags, both hanging and not... and honestly, the one that works best for me is some old toiletry bag from my grandpa, which he probably got for free when ordering something from a catalog. It's small and soft, so it fits anywhere, and it also reminds me of my grandpa :)

bro i love this guy - he's literally covered everything that I've researched about travel dopp kits and came to a result that's customisable based on your needs

Love your voice, clear and concise. Great video for the comparison which I needed since I too want a narrow toilet kit. Thanks

I use a hanging toiletry bag for two purposes when travelling - for storage of my electronics, earplugs eyemask etc. during economy flights as I can hang it from the seat back. Then when I arrive at my destination I swap in my toiletries from grip seal bags and hang it in the bathroom. Works great for me!

My Sea-To-Summit front transparent zipper pouch (size medium, i think) has been wonderful accompanying me to many countries over the last 10 years.
As a male with minimalist toiletries (repack to travel small sizes), this works as carry on that can be put at my bag front pocket for easy access at toilet or taking out for airport security checks.
Quality is still fantastic after using it for years.

Using the matador travel toothpaste tubes for shaving cream and aftershave balm is one way I save space in my dopp kit

I love how you try to consider everyone’s needs & not just yours when you make these videos!

I tend to bring minimal makeup when traveling, but my non negotiable items are my face wash & cream too because I have a skin condition. The hotel toiletries are good for me, so thats less to pack.

I know some ladies will need menstrual products when traveling & packing them in dopp kits make them bulky & leaves no room for other products. I suggest packing your pads flat in your bag underneath your clothes or lay them flat in the front pocket. That way your bag wont be unevenly packed.

My toiletry bag growing up was comically large. When I first started transitioning, I wanted a "manlier" option, so I bought a no-name brand one from Marshall's on a whim. It's rather made me see the light of keeping to the basics though: one _huge_ main compartment and one smaller zipper compartment on the base really are the only things I need.

Love your videos Maurice‼️ As a woman, I like a clear kit so I can see exactly where my stuff is. Besides my toiletries, I have my makeup and a fairly large amount of medication. So I really need something much larger. Mine looks like a suitcase shape but of course much smaller and clear. I use something and put it back. It just sits on the counter of my hotel bathroom. I do however love the hanging ones and use them also. Thanks for the info. 🎉

@mauricemoves Regarding the shower puffs…you could store it in a Matador bar soap bag…essentially a dry bag with a one way membrane so the soap (or shower puff) dries through the bag without anything getting wet.

Also an Aer Travel Kit 2 user. I love this thing. Once I rethought my toiletries situation, I realized it's the perfect tool for me. It has just enough organization that I could actually use to compartmentalize some of my stuff -so I could quickly find them later.

Wow, thanks for this great video. Been a plastic bag/ziplock bag person all this while

Always called them Ditty Bags. For carry on stuff, a gallon sized freezer zip lock back works. For check in, I have a one compartment kit that is big enough to hold full size toiletries and has a lining so that if something leaks it doesn't leak outside of the ditty bag.

With you 100% on keeping toiletries in airport approved clear plastic bag and putting the whole thing into wash bag. I've never actually bought a toiletries bag for travelling, instead I have been repurposing airline amenity kit bags for a while now.

Another tip is that a bulldog clip over a razer is a convenient way to store a razer in a wash bag with only one main compartment to stop the blades either getting damaged or damaging other things in the wash bag.

I appreciate how you cover different situations in terms of toiletry kits from the most basic to the most complex; everyone has different needs or requirements so it's good to cover all the bases. I'm more along the lines of the most basic when it comes to packing myself, though I always find myself taking more than I need; great video, keep up the great content! - Justin @ Vanquest

It would be awesome if you'd link that small waterproof pouch you put the shower puff in...
