Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has disputed Russia's claims that it seized control of the strategically vital Ukrainian port city of Mariupol, saying it was not completely lost.

"The situation is difficult, the situation is bad," Zelenskyy told journalists in Kyiv, adding that there were still several ways to "liberate" the city.

As much as I want Ukraine to win the claim that the people being kept Underground still have control of the city is just idiotic I wish them the best but we need realism

The US and Russia might have different ideas of what taking over a place is.

First “ he doesn't control Mariopol”, next “ he (the same person who has no control over Mariopol) should open up corridors for civilians ( and soldiers masquerading as civilians) to leave/escape. I am still trying to process this.

The ghost of Kiev will fly stealthy and extract them in his imaginary VTOL MIG-29.

An American and a Russian were arguing:
"We have total freedom of speech, " said the American.
"I can walk out in front of the White House and yell: 'Down with Biden'"
"So what!" replied the Russian. "I, also, can walk out on Red Square and yell: 'Down with Biden!'"

Why Ukrainian authorities and US are requesting Russia repeatedly, for a possible humanitarian corridor, , if Russia is not controlling completely the city of Mariupol?

I’d rather get my reports from real, on the ground journalists like Gonzalo Lira who live there and are unbiased and independent.

I wonder who "stuck" them there. Especially civilians.

Using civilians as shield shouldn’t be allowed in any war

Russia: "Z!"
Everyone else: "Y?"

Why would the "civilians" seek refuge in the bunker with the soldiers? Any army will prevent this because it is very difficult to deal with civilians in the war zone.
I wonder to what extent this is true.

Joe, any head of state would let them come out...unless they're on a highway leaving Kuwait?

Hunger will bring them out. They will end up giving up.

Obviously "liberated" means "destroyed" in Russian?

Thousands of civilians in a steel plant? Have they used the one place the enemy wants the most as a refuge? Human shields or what's going on there?
