There was a 2020 Dem primary poll where Kamala was polling behind Andrew Yang in her own home state. Pretty embarrassing for a “top tier candidate”.

Is anyone -- anyone! -- surprised by this? Kamala Harris was a horrible candidate in the Democrat Party presidential primaries in 2015-16 and had to drop out of the race before the first primary election results. As I recall, she was polling less than 1% among likely Democrat primary voters. Harris has a reputation for being a chaotic manager, dating back to her days as the California state attorney general, and has repeatedly lost good staff members because of her personally abrasive personality and management style. She is horrible on the campaign stump, she makes no particular connection with any demographic group, she has no particular expertise in any policy area, and she embarrasses herself every time she opens her mouth in a media interview. Harris was a "box check" selection for vice-president, and it was a mistake. A big mistake, which speaks directly to Joe Biden's supposed political competence.

Quick reminder that Kamala Harris was picked to be VP, not because of her popularity or charisma, but because of her skin colour and gender, and because she would say yes to whatever the DNC told her to say yes to.
