I'm a bit baffled by the amount of comments about the background music (good as it is) or the subtly dismissive comments about peoples political opinions as they stand now, but not really about the actual course.

I just started this series today and I'm enjoying it so far. Coming from studying global health/public health, and returning home to the states, I'm trying to better understand the details of what I'm getting into (besides what I've been taught barely in middle and high school).
I'm glad this is readily available information that's accessible to the public.

Voters make no demands and tune-in 2 weeks before an election to hear Congressman claim to put the voters 1st. They work 2 days a week, and most of that is sitting in office asking for money.

I have not gotten around to this course yet but I do have a question from the outset: If laws are to be simple and general, no array of details... does that not make room for the expansion and supremacy of the administrative state we see today? It seems to me that the lack of specificity in legislation has led to executive bodies (bureaucracies) to interpret the laws & execute them as they see fit and usurp legislative power in the form of 'regulations'. Am I missing something?
