"One of the funniest movies ever made." -- Roger Ebert

"A startling, stunning, outrageous [and] breathtaking debut!" (Los Angeles Times)

"Uproariously funny!" (Time)

From the endlessly funny mind of filmmaker Mel Brooks (Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein) comes this Oscar®-winning explosion of pure comic lunacy about low-rent Broadway producer Max Bialystock (Zero Mostel) and his high-strung accountant Leo Bloom (Gene Wilder). They discover that, with the help of a few gullible investors, they can make more money on a flop than on a hit. So armed with the worst show ever written -- "Springtime For Hitler" -- and an equally horrific cast, this double-dealing duo is banking on disaster. But when their sure-to-offend musical becomes a surprise smash hit, they find themselves in the middle of a Broadway blitzkrieg!

Thank you, Mr. Wilder for bringing pure joy to countless people.  A truly talented man who will always be remembered for his wonderful body of work, including a memorable (and hysterical) portrayal of Leo Bloom.  RIP, Sir

A brilliant actor and genius comic. You brought decades of joy to millions, both young and old. R.I.P.

Wonderful film and my favourite lines are when Franz Leibkin is upset. Leo Bloom tries to comfort him and says "There there." To which Fran says, "Where? where?"

When I saw it first I was alone and I was laughing out loud and I felt so guilty for laughing I looked over my shoulder to make sure nobody could see me. This original was for me the best by far.😀

I am sure you and Zero are having a laugh reminiscing about whatever. You will be surely missed, a comic genius, and a true gentleman. R.I.P. Mr. Wilder. Say hi to my Great Uncle Z.

This is one of the greatest films yet it isn't on DVD or Blu ray in Australia. That's bullshit and a crime since it isn't available. We need this amazing film.

They mean "comic, " but yes.
Gene Wilder was among the best of the best.
"One of the funniest men alive." I guess I can't say THAT any more.
I love everything he ever did in movies, and I am very sad, at his passing. Kenny Mars told me wonderful funny stories about Gene, making my favorite comedy, "The Producers." I hope you watch this and remember how truly funny he was. I'm home, for a good cry.

Thank you Mr. Gene Wilder, you were always my heart.  You were an OUTSTANDING ACTOR...YOU WILL BE MISSED...One of my favorite movie other than willie wonker, was the PRODUCER, I screamed so loud laughing at gene in that movie my stomach began to hurt..lmao...when he entered the house of the two drag queens, and the one with the blonde hair had a sneaky smile on his face, gene wilder just stared at him the whole time he was in the home of the two queens,   the producer was an excellent movie.  RIP  MR. WILDER. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE THE BEST..love to you SIR.

This just came on tv. I missed all my regular programs to watch! Perfect casting, and I am still teary from laughing so much at Dick Shawn as Hitler, came in too late to catch the german with his pigeons on the roof. Best movie ever. And those who have gone are Sadly Missed - we will never see their like again. Mel Brooks needs to be interviewed more often!! I love him.

One of the greatest movies of all time!!! Only from the warped Brooklyn Jew brain of Mel Brooks could something as wacky and wonderful come. Perhaps Seth McFarland (Family Guy) would do as good.
Supreme performance of almost all with no. #1 of course the incomparable Zero(THAT'S OUR HITLER) With him the superb Christopher Hewitt, that fantastic Queen, along with the fabulous swish Andreas; Kenneth Mars, Dick Shawn, Estelle(contessa and chauffeur), the concierge: (boyds dirty filthy boyds) I'm not a madam I'm a concierge; the landlord: he who signs the lease must pay the rent-don't listen to him; Jason Green singing the German Band - haben sie gehort. The only one I didn't really like was Gene Wilder.
Great Love Power song. The ingenious Springtime for Hitler showcase and song and the other Prisoners of Love routine. WHAT A Put me down, Robert Telarket for 150%.
