Marilyn Manson is super interesting to listen to, music and just hearing him talk. He does have this level of artistry that I think people, fans and non-fans can overlook. He’s very striking visually and extreme on the surface. I think he is at a point in his career and life where he has moved on just as a “metal band/artist” and is just his own thing, just like Ozzy Osborn or Alice Cooper. They are just their own entities.

This performance was so much fun. It’s definitely a different side of Manson for me in that it’s an acoustic performance, but it was still very much in Manson’s style.

Why does everyone pick the not great performances of this song? There are so many spectacular versions out there. Still, I like your review :)

Also worthwhile noting that past 2012 he has some bad damage to his upper mid range where he can't make full sounds. This is him working around it as he can't physically belt the screams at that range any more. You can hear him try do it in some live versions ... and all that comes out is air. Tends to do a lot of low (fry and non fry). His falsetto however, is still gorgeous.

Manson's singing is all about texture, texture, texture, and well. There is always a lot of texture, you can always hear him playing around with the feel of the sounds.

I was 15 i think when he exploded on the scene and by scene i mean MTV/KRock the internet was slightly better than watching the old laser printers attempt to print. Around the same time period as Columbine i still remember the news not knowing who to blame it was The Matrix, Marilyn Manson or Grand Theft Auto or all the above, soon after it was 911 now that i think about it my 9th and 10th grade was very dark time.

Something for next week maybe? I really, really hate Halloween and you need to decompress after this week. So, maybe something of old? You keep telling for a singer the story of a song makes that song.

Thus a suggestion, Janis Ian with the song 'At Seventeen' from the album 'Between the Lines' released in 1975, and yes, I'm that old. The video was the live performance when she won the Grammy in 1976.

I lovelovelove MM …love like i have some of his tattoos copied on myself. I have to be honest … this is not even close to how good he used to sound. I wish for his sake it was but it seems like he has permanently trashed his voice from years of intense screaming and singing.

This looks not long after the stage malfunction where he got hurt. He's just messing with us with this at this point haha good on him. I met him once, I was very drunk & obnoxious. Everyone has always been like "oh he's so tall & scary" & I'm 6'1 & I'm like "oh hi, you're not as tall as I've been made to believe" as I kinda look at his new rocks & I'm in docs looking down at him. He had no idea what to say. Oops sorry mate ha.
