I have just received the world's most mysterious self-help book: Carl Jung's The Red Book. This mysterious red book could very well be the journal of a scientist-gone-mad or a true soul-seeker who has discovered the secret meaning to life. The Red Book has been hidden for over 100 years and has only recently been made available in publication. This evening, I'll tell you its story and share my thoughts over my own reading of it through the years and the lessons we can take away from it.

I have had this book for 11 years and it could be described as mysterious but "self help" in the modern sense of being happier more successful etc? I am not sure that's a proper description, . Jung was concerned about the "self" indeed and this is more like a personal dream journal of a genius of the psyche documenting an experiment he conducted on himself in order to confront and make sense of his own unconscious mind and made theoretical groundbreaking work on the collective unconscious. This is not "the secret".
