Ever been to a pizzeria in Germany? In my childhood it was gouda on pizza, tacky stereotypical decorations including the red and white checkered table cloth and Eros Ramazotti playing softly in the background. And we loved it. 😂
The staff was always super-friendly, even to us teenagers who only ordered a small pizza and one drink and felt super proud to go eating out with our pocket money.

Someone introduced me to pineapple on pizza when I was in college. I thought it sounded disgusting! But she said I had to try one piece. I did, and it was great! Hawaiian is my favourite now! The trick to making them right is to grill the pineapple first before putting them on the pie. (Or do a quick sear on a dry non stick pan to caramelize both sides.) Do that, and you won't believe how delicious it is!

The hotdogs on pizza is super common. Usually you get würstel or the one which is like French fries and hotdog. Very popular with kids. Never seen Hawaiian pizza here but I do know a woman here who lived abroad for a few years and she admitted to me that she used to eat it all the time and loved it, but is too scared to tell her Italian friends back home 😅
