There are two reasons why Italians hate pineapple on pizza:
1) Pizza is a cultural symbol, it was created to represent the Italian flag: basil (green), mozzarella (white), sauce (red). So putting strange things on it is a bit like disrespecting this symbol.
2) The other reason is that making disgusting combinations is equivalent to ruining the food, therefore wasting it, and wasting food is a grave sin.
