So you drop in a How-to-POV video right after I'm back from a long weekend trip where I myself have been meaning to record POV videos and searching for tips. Awesome!

Another banger mate! I think what makes your POVs so good is you can see pretty much everything as you would at eye level. A lot of other POV car channels are a bit too high, so you can’t see the rear mirrors really. Keep up the great work Mick 👍

Great Video as always man.
I personally would use a pair of glasses or sunglasses to rest the camera on top of so it doesn't restrict my view, I find the camera can be quite distracting in front of my eyes.
Also for the GoPro warping effect, if you use the MAX lenses mod, this still gives a wide shot without the distortion around the edge.

Thanks for this mate. I have been wondering for a while how best to get good POV, and having been watching your channel - I noticed you really are good at it. The DJI Action is on my list of stuff I want, so I might make it a priority. Thanks for sharing, as you say you didn't have to 'give your secrets away' but hopefully the world of content will be a better place for it. Cheers.

Terrific video! I've been very interested in POV recording, not while driving but walking, and portability and miniaturization while still having quality is a huge issue I kept pondering on. I'll give DJI a look, since everything you've described here sounds really neat. Also great tips for how to move for the most useful footage, since you're essentially signing up to be a cameraman too and have to start thinking like it.

Looking at the camera position i’m actually a bit worried about safety in case the airbag comes out, what do you think about it?

So, if u are using the hat clip mount. Mean, we can only shoot in horizontal video? Or we can chance into vertical shoot to?

I've bought this exact camera for driving POV videos. I can't grasp the angle. I'd get a good angle but then my vision is limited to driving and I don't think it's safe. Would you be able to do a video that's dedicated to this?

Head strap also works, you just have to turn it upside down/inside out :)

Thanks Mick, a lot of valuable information!
One thing that crossed my mind when I tried to test the ideas...

Isn't the camera placement a bit unsafe? Maybe the way I did it is wrong but to be honest the view and perception of distance feel quite impaired.
Are You looking under the camera or can You see around it? :') Thanks for the answer, all the best to You!

the way the camera sits in your face like that, I feel like I would not enjoy that at all, doesn't it block the vision in some way?
