This video shows the recovery of our patient 7 weeks after her total ankle joint replacement surgery.

Yes, ankle joints can be replaced too- with good outcomes.

This video shows our patient at physiotherapy with us 7 weeks after surgery.
The first 6 weeks are in a plaster cast walking with crutches. From weeks 6-12  she is in a walker boot, fully weight bearing.
We are working with her to improve movement in her ankle and foot (non weight-bearing) at this stage of her physiotherapy recovery.

After just over 2 months of reconstructive surgery and a tendon transfer, it still feels like my foot isn’t attached to me and it hurts and my ROM is very limited. It also turns purple if it’s facing down for longer than 3 minutes.

I just got out of my cast and my foot won't lay flat at all. I had surgery on May 2nd. I was told Physical Therapy should help my foot become neutral. Is it normal for a patient to have stiffness and not being able to lay their foot flat after they come out of a cast? Update: I had to have my Achilles Ruptured in order for my foot to be able to lay flat. After my cast came off my Achilles was so tight it was preventing my foot from laying flat. So I am back in a cast and recovering for month's.

Im at the stage where i can only move my ankle up and down, no circles just yet and my surgery was 4 weeks ago. I naturally moved my left ankle along with my fractured one when making the movements. Not easy and its going to be a long road
