I can't find _Japanese_ Jujitsu sparring videos (I found some competition videos, but read it was a western version of Jujitsu).


Don't they do sparring? I would like to see it.

The technique at 0:05 doesn't look like traditional Ju Jitsu at all. That's actually against the JJ principles. Lifting your opponent with an effortful pull? Riiiight! Everything else seems like mix between Judo and some other random JJ schools.

Also, if it is Japanese Ju Jitsu how come there is no japanese ryu behind it? Something like Dayto Ryu, Kito Ryu, Hontai Yoshin Ryu, etc?

*NEVER* have I seen this on the streets.

You need fast, explosive accurate 2-3 hit combination..

You need stamina to shout, fight hard for short bursts within a timeframe of 1 minute…

Then be able to run fast and long to get away from the scene

I love this art and it is sad that most people know only BJJ. Many people not know this and it isn't even on the video (no critics). But this art also has your stand up game aka striking and kicking.

Pretty sure the samurai couldn’t jump like that in full armour with weapons involved, and the ground is a super bad place to go in the middle of a battle 🧐
