I relate most to Tiana. Being so overworked nearly 24/7 in order to make your dreams come true is a struggle I go through everyday. It's characters like her that remind me how much it's worth it, while characters like Naveen remind me that everyone needs to let loose sometimes.

Tbh I'm actually hurt at the exclusion of Lilo and Nani. Lilo meant so much to me growing up as an undiagnosed Autistic girl and Nani reminded me so much of my older sister who did her best trying to handle me. I also related heavily with Stitch because I felt like I was a monster programmed to only do the wrong thing.. but Stitch isn't a heroine lol

Cinderella can be relatable to strict neglecting/abusive family backgrounds.

For me, Belle and Ariel have always been the most relatable characters to me. They are in my top 2. Like Belle, I'm also a bookworm and always dreamed of something more exciting in life. I, especially, felt that more in my early 20s. And like Ariel, I also have that adventurous spirit and want to explore the world.

Cinderella is actually quite relatable. Not in terms of having the luck to go to a ball, most people aren't like that, but many children are in abusive households.

And she does have more character development in the sequels, you forgot. Heck in the first part of the second movie, the plot is literally about her making mistakes and being under pressure, trying to make others happy instead of doing what makes HER happy, so actually she is fairly relatable.

Encanto has become pretty relatable for me. Mirabel and Bruno especially for me.

No Wendy Darling?! Wendy is the very epitome of relatable. We've all liked somebody that we shouldn't have, been turned by a pretty face and a pretty head. And then she chooses her own self happiness over a potentially toxic relationship. And on top of that she's making that mature decision at 12 years old. Personally I think she doesn't get enough credit.

Yes, I knew that Maribel would be ranked high in this list. Despite not having a physical gift, she brings out the best in her family, and is truly the heart of the Madrigals.

As the older sister I relate to Merida, Isabela, Luisa and Elsa. They must be the example and they have to be what their parents want them to be and do everything they expect. This is so much pressure and they do anything to protect their younger siblings even from themselves but they crave for freedom and they finally just want to be themselves and be accepted as who they are without having to explain themselves to anyone. Sometimes they have to be drastic to finally get their freedom because it sure as hell doesn't come for free.

I related to Mirabel when I was growing up. I tried to make myself stand out in school, but I knew I couldn’t do that by trying to be the person everyone thought I was. As my grandmother once told me, “you don’t have to stand out to matter, you just have to be yourself”. I carry that with me everyday

My great-grandmother came to America as an indentured servant for a family of Eastern-Europeans. Another great-grandmother was a servant to her aunt and cousins after her father sold her. So I feel Cinderella and Snow White are a tad more relatable if you don't have rich parents.

Esmeralda and Megara should be higher in the ranking. They're amazing heroines, down-to-earth and brave. And their life stories are more mature than others. I'm glad that at least Tiana is 2nd, she's so determined and resourceful.

Ariel may be my favorite Disney heroine, but I relate to Anna the most. She thinks alot like me, she's quirky and energetic like me, she acts like me, and when things get dark in Frozen 2, I strongly connect, and root for her because I act like Anna when things get dark, too.

What about Judy Hopps from Zootopia? Yea, she's an anthropomorphic rabbit, but she has some pretty relatable struggles and conflicts that could qualify her for this. Man, why is Disney seemingly trying to bury Zootopia? It's a phenomenal movie!

I'm surprised that Alice is so low.

The moment when she realizes she's at fault for her own problems in the "Very Good Advice" really hit close to home for me, especially as I got older. Who can't relate to being in a bad situation that you created knowing full well you should have known better. Everyone has that moment when you realize that your old habits die hard and it stings knowing your struggling to take responsibility for yourself. That moment when a lesson comes to you as a slap to the face. I understand Alice in Wonderland isn't a traditional coming of age story, but still, you don't see that too often. The hero/heroine admits their mistakes without the movie framing it like they were taken advantage of by someone, especially in kids movies.

Is it just me?

The ones I feel most related to are Megara, I am also a lonely and sarcastic person, and to Esmeralda, because as an outcast I've always been (although not for the same reason than her), I've suffered the discrimination (bullying) from other people. But I would like to think that I keep being myself despite that, and I keep having my strong attitude despite all hate

I mostly relate to Elsa. I was surprise she only #11. She represent all the introverts out in the world, including myself.

Mulan is way braver than my cowardly self

But the scenes with her interacting with the friends she made during training I relate too

I had fun times and conversations with friends from my high school track team the way mulan did with her friends

I think one large factor to take in here is that relatability changes overtime due to... well, social changes.
