10 Uses for Paper Clips You Should Know

Paperclips have been in the office and our homes for more than a century, but these little metal binders of joy can do much more than just hold paper together. Today, we’ll show you some awesome ways to solve common problems using paper clips.

Paperclips are also useful for re-stringing a hooded sweatshirt or sweatpants.

1: Unfold the outer end, leaving the rest of the paperclip as is, bending the now longer part out just a bit so you can thread the drawstring into the inner loop of the paperclip.

2: Place the drawstring into the inner loop of the paperclip (you may have to tie a knot close the end of the sting if there isn't one already so it doesn't come loose in later steps).

3: Thread the paperclip and drawstring through one side of the hood or waistband until the end of the long part of the paperclip is about even with the slit, or just inside it.

4: hold the base of the long part of the paperclip, and start pushing the fabric at the other end onto the paperclip, gathering it on the paperclip until you have about one half-inch of the paperclip left to grab onto.

5: Grasp the top of the paperclip, and pull down lightly on the other end to straighten out the rest of the fabric and pull some of the drawstring into the pocket.

6: Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you come out the other side.

7: Remove the end of the drawstring from the paperclip, and you've just restrung your garment!

I figured out that you can use a bread clip to bundle up cords like headphones or charging cables; and you can even use the more heavy-duty bread clips that you get from the 2-packs of bread for even thicker cables.
