I’m on the latest iOS 18.4 developer beta in the UK and there is no default navigation option in default apps. I’m using the latest 16 Pro.

Hi, I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max. When I connect it to my Renault Talisman with a cable, Apple CarPlay does not activate, only multimedia and charging are activated. Do you know why? Or do you know a solution? By the way, iOS is also 18.4.

Turns out it was the VPN causing my Apple CarPlay to stop working with the latest iOS updates. I found random post on a Ford F150 forum mentioning their VPN as being the issue. (I drive a Focus in Europe with my car having the SYNC 3 system) I had updated everything but realised during all my testing my VPN was connected. I didn't figure how it might be an issue, so tested it WITHOUT my VPN connected and it worked straight away! I reconnected the VPN and tried plugging into my car again, and it stopped working. Disconnected the VPN and again plugged in and it worked again! Go figure. VPN didn't used to be an issue, but I guess something with 18.4.1 has changed that.

Figured I would mention VPN so others are aware!

In my C-Class it has always been three rows. Nothing has changed with iOS 18.4 in this regard. Simply because the screen format is different in the other models.

I'll never understand why anyone would use Carplay in any modern car that has native navigation. The navigation in my BMW is way more integrated with my heads up display. Overall, It looks boring; looks different from every car's native software so it doesn't blend with the other screen(s); adds no true additional features. I couldn't care less that it has an extra row of icons. It might use it if you could add your own wallpaper. I already have the sports play by play and scores through Sirius XM.
