This is because Ryan O'Neil looked like Beetle Bailey with an oversized helmet and a baggy uniform. Ryan O'Neil did not pull off the part. That was the problem.

Who gives a s*** about what the critics say. So you get paid to talk s*** about a movie. That sounds like the stupidest reason to pay somebody ever. I wouldn't care about a critic if I was historically accurate. Critics obviously don't understand history or science
