In this video I test the following MCP2515 CAN Bus Libraries on the bench and connected to a Land Rover Freelander 2 car to see which ones have the best proformance.

We also use an Oscilloscope connected to the Freelander 2 to understand the amount of CAN Data we should be expecting.

This was a great video. I've recently started getting into Canbus, hacking, I have a Suzuki lapin from Japan and there's minimal to no documentation on it. I figured out what the majority of can ID do. But I'm still stumped on how the passive entry system works

From what I can gather the fob uses RFID to talk to the car but I can't tell if it has rolling codes or not, I'm hoping to be able to clone the RFID data to a generic fob, but I've had no luck so far.

I'm beginning to think that the immobilizer system possibly runs on a separate LIN BUS that doesn't directly communicate with the rest of the network.

Thanks for your great work here, I am thinking about using this frame work to evaluate other hardware combos, any suggestions on other hardware to compare too. I am focused on Seeeduoino line of boards. Wondering what other MCP2515 board people use. My purpose is general CAN for industrial use, but I want something I can use for cars also because I do lots of work with that too, but there are lots off off the shelf tools for 90% of those issues.

So do you have an idea of how to het the data from the ecu outside of the car.
