Hypixel actually adapts new features from the latest version but they are only visible on those versions. E.g. removing numbers from scoreboards and the server info in the escape menu

What people didn't realize about the update/locator is that there ARE ways for server owners to choose, upgrade and even disable said feature.
It won't make everyone instantly targetable.. At least - is how I think it is
