In this video I explain some techniques used to calculate values of designer gold jewelry for buying at auctions. You will need to use scrap gold calculators available online as well as some simple math. If a piece scraps at $2900 and the auction charges a 25% buyers premium, you can back the price out by doing 2900 x .75 = $2175. This will give you a basis to determine your final bids.
