Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie is a masterpiece in every sense of the word. Are you a fan?

Each page is a history lesson which drags you deeper into the streets of Kashmir, the conversation of military, the smells of Pakistan, the wonders of Bombay and the lives of the 630 million people of India between Independence and the end of the Emergency years run by Indira Gandhi.

It’s not been an easy book, but the more I am learning the more I am understanding... and that is what literature should make you achieve.

A worthy member of the Man Booker winners. Utterly deserving of it winner the Booker of Bookers

I need to reread this book! I went to a wonderful high school where we read whole books in English and History classes, instead of text books. We also had a book the entire school was required to read and a movie we all watched as a school (I only remember two picks, Kids and Do the Right Thing). Anyway, Midnight’s Children was either for a History class or a whole school pick…pretty sure it was a history class and I loved it and loved all the discussions. ❤️
