Wasting time and money doing a mower's job with a string trimmer. Not to mention trimmer line harder on the grass than a sharp blade.

Im a new home owner and never used or had to use lawn equipment. Sorry for the dumb question, but i just picked up my own weed wacker. I heard its bad to not put the cover on the weed wacker because it puts a lot of stress on it. Is this true or false? Again sorry for the question if its dumb. Im new to lawn care.

Hey im just curious i know nothing about lawn care but im looking into getting into it i have a couple questions like 1. I love in California but i always see different grass types can i cut they all at same height or different heights for different grass types? 2. I always see the 1/3 rule how do u use that rule when cutting with the string trimmer ?
