Mind = blown! This is AMAZING! Thank you.

This is very useful. I always judged the length by making a tiny 'jerk', on the yarn, for each planned cast on stich and a final pull, of at least 8 inches at the end. Usually had too much but I never came up short. Yours is definitely better. Thank you.

This is a great idea if you’re using a solid color. If you’re ends are different colors don’t fret. Simply wrap your yarn lightly around your needle the number of stitches you need, leave yourself a little extra just in case. 😊

Then what?
Do I have to use the pulled end to knit or the ouside end to knit?
The ball I have has been wound from a skein Does the strand I use to knit really matter or will I have a curl to deal with in my finished scarf? “A Good Scarf” is my pattern. What other CO can be used well with your pattern?

Great tip but this is why I never use a long tail cast on and I’m fine with not using it. 😁
